In the early 1960’s the Aurora Plastics Corporation acquired the rights to produce a line of their model kits based on a number of film, television and comic properties. As well as the Universal family of monsters, Batman, The Hulk and Lost In Space, King Kong was one of the more popular kits made. The models would come in sections, which once carefully removed from the plastic sprue would be assembled before painting.
